First Church of God - Morehead, Kentucky

History of RCCA

In 1991, a "Mother's Day Out" program was begun and children began to fill the hallways of Morehead First Church of God.  On June 2, 1992, this program became the Morehead First Church of God Day Care.   In 1994, the idea of a kindergarten was born.  We started the Rowan County Christian Academy Kindergarten with six students in 1994.  We were taking a slow, prayerful approach to our school.

In May of 1998, we broke ground for the addition to the church, which is the current home of our campus.  God was blessing us in a most wonderful way!  RCCA has definitely grown into a ministry in which we can share the love and teachings of Jesus Christ to our most prized possessions...our children!  God continues to bless us and we look forward to each new school year!

Mission Statement

Statement of Faith

Rowan County Christian Academy was founded and functions upon the basic fundamental principles of the God's Word, the Bible, taking a Christian world view.  The following statements of faith and practices are held by every Rowan County Christian Academy administrator, faculty member, and staff.

A. We believe the Bible to be the inspired and holy, infallible, authoritative, Word of God.

B. We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

C. We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

D. We believe that man is sinful by nature and that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for salvation.

E. We believe in the continuing ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.

F. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto eternal life and those who are lost unto eternal damnation.

G. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

H. We believe in the creation of man by the direct act of God.

I. We believe that the Church is the body of believers added by Christ, with the mission of preaching and teaching the gospel of salvation to the world!
